JOB TITLE: LEAD ANIMATOR
In the creation process of a next-gen video game, and among a character design department, you will be in charge of supervising a team of animators. The conception of methods of production, the management of schedules as well as the treatment and the processing of data coming from Motion Capture sessions will be your main assignment.
Responsibilities:
As Lead Animator for ACRONYM you would be involved in all aspects of the production from the initial design of character movement and technical considerations of implementation to collaboration with other art teams and the creation of final animation. While most animation will be focused on 5,000 to 20,000 poly characters for use in a real-time game environment; you will also be required animate facial expressions, world objects, and work with High Resolution Models to be used in pre-rendered sequences.
Experience:
- 3+ years professional animation experience in film, TV, or the gaming industry.
- Experience with game sports titles is an asset.
- Strong traditional art background.
- Skills in 3D modeling, texturing and/or lighting.
- Expertise in MEL scripting would be advantageous but not essential.
- Experience with procedural animation, including cloth simulation, dynamics, and particle-based systems a benefit
- Experience with motion capture data is beneficial but not required.
Skills:
- High proficiency in MAYA and MOTION BUILDER
- A good knowledge of the Motion Capture process (Vicon exp. preferred)
- A good knowledge of skinning, rigging, setup, MEL script and post-animation
- Ability to establish and apply tools and processes
- Capacity to learn technical proprietary tools
- Experienced in the techniques and the constraints of real time 3D
- Strong schedule and team management skills
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in art animation and design
