JOB TITLE: ART DIRECTOR

The Art Director will be responsible for the overall vision/content for each project and, as required, maintain and refine the art content during each stage of production to ensure the highest standards are achieved. He or She will communicate between the Art, Design and Programming departments to execute the project's vision. The Art Director will foster and build a culture within the studio for artistic excellence and high levels of productivity. Equally important is the growth of each artist's skills through mentoring, education, and direction, utilizing their traditional art training and knowledge in modeling, texturing, 2D art, concepts, UI design, and lighting.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish the Artistic Vision of the project, maintaining said vision and executing to completion
  • Mentor artists, supplying them with direction regarding studio standards, procedures, processes, pipelines, tools, etc.
  • Provide input on tasks and completion times for tasks in support of the Art and Project Managers
  • Regularly reviews, provides feedback and works with Producer to approve the art content being built.
  • Create the vision and provide clear direction of the art style for the game while maintaining a high level of quality and consistency
  • Contribute innovative and original ideas towards all aspects of game art and production
  • Set an example for all team members by regularly demonstrating strong work ethics, quality of work, teamwork, motivation, and solid leadership
  • Reliably specs out new projects and ensures the Art team have the number of resources and time needed to deliver.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 years in the industry with at least 2 titles as an Art Director
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, ability to manage and direct large diverse teams
  • Strong art portfolio; should show experience in concept art, graphic, animation, modelling, texturing and lighting
  • Deep technical knowledge and expertise with various 3D software packages
